**Description**

As our Senior Quality Engineer for Apparel Materials, you will ensure that all Nike apparel products meet or exceed customer, consumer and governmental regulations through collaboration and the application of prevention based quality engineering tools. You will focus on product safety, product qualification, reliability, cost of quality, and on time manufacturing. You will provide tools and support for assessing and mitigating risk of new material developments. In addition you will serve as the conduit of information between Materials and our Category Quality Engineering teams. This includes, but is not limited to root cause analysis, defect reduction activities, establishment of realistic standards and feasibility studies. You will provide formal, quantitative feedback to both internal Nike and external organizations in order to influence well-informed business decisions. You will share learning's to help create a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, you will seek opportunities to improve knowledge of quality engineering tools and will have the opportunity to mentor others.


**Qualifications**

o Bachelor's degree in Science/ Engineering, preferably textiles

o Minimum 5 years work experience in a textiles/apparel related field

o Strong written and verbal communication skills

o Demonstrated computer proficiency, including MS Office

o Strong analytical and problem solving skills

o Experience with statistics, design of experiments (DOE), and quality management systems

o Ability to effectively conduct presentations to small and large audiences

o Demonstrated experience influencing and negotiating

o Strategic thinking skills

o Demonstrated experience mentoring others

o Textile/ Apparel manufacturing knowledge is preferred

o ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred

o Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
